These are the official China Golden Week dates for 2026. According to the General Office of the State Council, China has two holidays back to back this year.

Drewry’s World Container Index stood at USD 4,500 per 40ft on 17 September, ahead of China Golden Week 2026. Transpacific rates rose 6% week on week, while Asia to Europe/Med rates fell 7%. In addition, Drewry notes that pre-holiday cargo front loading and further carrier capacity adjustments could influence October space and schedules.

What Should Exporters and Forwarders Do Before China Golden Week?
